August 2020 Grant Awards
We are proud to announce that three new research grants, which promote the interactional approach to healthy relationships, were awarded by the Board of Directors in August 2020.
These grants will build theory and empirical evidence and they will add to our understanding of what leads to healthy relationships.
A grant to Acknowledge Alliance, will help support social emotional wellness of students and educators in their teaching and learning, by strengthening and building resilience, social competencies, emotional regulation, empathy and meaningful relationships.
A grant to Ashley K. Randall, Assistant Professor of Counseling and Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University, will help develop a couple’s coping program for same gender-couples and will allow her to complete the necessary beginning stages leading to the development of the couples coping enhancement training – Sexual Minority Stress relationship education program.
A grant to Harry Reis, Professor of Psychology at the University of Rochester, will examine partner emotion regulation during the Covid-19 pandemic and identify the particular kinds of social support and emotion regulation strategies that are most beneficial for addressing the emotional and psychological impact of COVID-19.
